Beautiful old Lisbon
It is unlikely that you will want to walk around this city with a guide, listening to his stories. It is more interesting to move around the capital of Portugal yourself. Although a sightseeing tour is still worth a visit. Every half hour from Prasa da Figueira, sightseeing tours in Lisbon are sent on four different routes.
Tours in Lisbon
There are many places here that you will want to tell your friends about later.
One of such places is Jeronimos Monastery. He is famous for the fact that Vasco da Gamma, a Portuguese traveler, who was the first to arrive not by land, but by sea from Europe to India, is buried here.

Not far from the monastery there is a small island located in the Tagus River. On this island is the Belen Tower – a symbol of the city. At the mouth of the river, a fort was erected to protect against enemies who could come to the city from the sea. However, he was not able to fulfill a defensive function, the tower served as a prison, then a warehouse, then a customs.

The area around the tower is called Belen, it also has many interesting sights. There is a monument to the discoverers, a planetarium, a museum of electricity, a maritime museum. Everyone can find in this wonderful city something interesting for themselves.
You can get here by choosing, for example, blue, violet or yellow routes on a sightseeing bus. A nice feature: you can either leave the bus at any point on the route, or board it and continue the excursion from anywhere.
In Lisbon, solving the housing problem is simple, there is a huge selection of hotels. As in any European capital, Lisbon also has rather high prices for accommodation. But you can always find an acceptable option both by location and by cost and quality of service. The approximate price for 3 star hotels is around 40-60 EUR. This will be the best option for tourists who save, but want to get a good quality service.
It should be noted that prices are not always radically different. It happens that the price of a 4 or 5 star hotel is practically no different from 3 stars, while the quality of services will be higher. The wealthiest travelers can afford to stay, for example, in such a popular hotel as Lapa Palace. The simplest room in such a hotel will cost 300+ EUR. But in some four-star hotels, a luxurious double room can cost as little as 75 EUR. The price is determined by the location of the hotel. More expensive are the rooms in hotels located in the city center. It can not be called a serious drawback that the hotel is not in the center, because getting to the center by public transport will take about 20 minutes.
Many people prefer to live not in the city itself, but in the nearest suburb, on the ocean. The advantages in this option are obvious: fresh ocean air, a calmer and more measured pace of life, and, of course, the ocean and beaches.
To the north, the prim primitive Estoril and Cascais will offer respectable bars, cafes, discos, clubs, and to the south the democratic Costa da Kaparika, more recently a fishing village, will offer modest cafes and restaurants and a huge 20-kilometer beach. In the suburbs, accommodation prices are even lower than on the outskirts of Lisbon, and getting to the center is not much more difficult.
