Thailand or Vietnam – where to go?

The two main tourist destinations in Southeast Asia today are Thailand and Vietnam. In this article we will try to compare the pros and cons of both directions.

Thailand or Vietnam – where to go?
But first, general information about the conditions of rest in both countries.

A visa to Thailand is not required for a stay of up to 30 days, to Vietnam – is also not required, but up to 15 days. The flight to both countries from Russia is direct and takes nine hours.

In Thailand, a large selection of accommodation and excellent hotel service, in Vietnam, the choice is smaller and the service is weaker. There are a lot of attractions in Thailand, and in Vietnam there are many.

And now – about each country individually, the pros and cons.

THAILAND
For decades, this country has been a leader among the most popular Asian tourist destinations. Travelers come here from all over the world, hoping to enjoy the warm, fine white sand on endless beaches, the gentle surf, magnificent tropical landscapes.

Thailand

The hotels here are for every taste and budget, the level of service is very high, there are many opportunities for active and sightseeing holidays. All this makes the country very popular among tourists.

Unfortunately, a couple of recent years, some tourists began to come from Thailand somewhat disappointed. Everything here has long been put on stream, commercialized and standardized according to European models, but there is almost no real exotic. But the demand for tours to Thailand remains high. The following Thai resorts are most popular among tourists:

Phuket – the largest island of the country, the tourist dream of a tropical paradise. Phuket is designed for travelers with a solid budget, and for those who, while on vacation, try to save.

Krabi Province – about a hundred islands, including the famous islands of Phi Phi, vacation for every taste. You can just bask in the sand, or dive among the coral reefs, stroll among the picturesque sea cliffs.

Pattaya is perhaps the cheapest resort in Thailand. It is widely known as a vibrant nightlife, and, alas, not quite clean beaches.

Koh Samui – the best spa resorts in Thailand, water sports schools, numerous nature reserves are concentrated here.

Against the background of the obvious advantages of a vacation in Thailand – quality service, exotic nature, there are undoubted disadvantages – high prices for entertainment, street thieves and scammers, transvestites and “lady fights” pestering tourists.

VIETNAM
Although in recent years, tours to Vietnam have appreciably risen in price, the country is still one of the cheapest in its region and throughout Asia. Tourists who first arrived in Vietnam are surprised at first, and then they get used to not paying attention to prices.

Vietnam

The mainland and islands of Vietnam are several ancient cities, ancient temples, picturesque reserves and green rice fields on the slopes of the mountains. But hurry up – Vietnam is booming and may soon become like Thailand. Among the tourists in Vietnam are the most popular:

Hanoi – the capital of Vietnam is ideal for sightseeing tourism, the city is highly appreciated by lovers of ancient architecture.

Halong Bay – translated as “Bay of the Descending Dragon”, 3000 islands, especially appreciated by lovers of boat trips and exotic landscapes.

Danang – long sandy beaches with white fine sand and a convenient location near the most important historical sights – the Imperial city of Hue, the temple complex of Michon and the ancient city of Hoi An.

Phan Thiet and Mui Ne – border each other, there are good waves. Paradise for surfers and cheap hotels for everyone.

Nha Trang – excellent wide beaches with fine sand, a clear sea, mild climate all year round (it is believed that the rainy season is one of the shortest in Vietnam), as well as excellent conditions for diving, good hotels and developed tourist infrastructure.

Phu Quoc Island – beautiful nature and gorgeous sandy beaches, clear sea and excellent conditions for diving.

Thus, the undoubted advantages of tours to Vietnam are low prices and a large number of antiquities located in unique tropical natural zones. There are also disadvantages – the abundance of markets and street trading, it annoys many. As well as the relatively low level of hotel and restaurant service.

As a result, to put each country, Vietnam or Thailand, plus or minus, and where to go – the decision can only be individual.
