We are going to have a joint meeting of LARS and Northern Minnesota Reef Club on Saturday, Dec. 13th, 2008. The window we are shooting to start the event is noon-1 pm. If you are free that day please try and make it. If you can't then you will be missed.

FOOD: I will buy pizza and drinks depending on how many people show up. If you want to bring something along please feel free (but not a must).

Visitor Parking is located on the west and North end of 3815 Berkeley Drive and extra parking is on the West end of Berkeley Drive on the left. Car pool if possible to save gas and parking space.

Agenda

1. Show and Tell. (People can bring pictures of places they have been or information they saw on the internet, etc)

2. Upper Midwest Frag Swap Discussion (We are thinking of doing a frag swap sometime in March/April, would be nice to get you involved)

3. Nano-reef tank contest: We are thinking of doing a nano-reef tank build off contest between Dec-March on this forum. We have come up with some really nice prices for winners. Again would be nice to have you involved.

4. I will try and get some tank tours arranged. But most people have finals that week so might be hard. We can do at least two tank tours.

5. I am thinking of giving a talk about low-nutrient system like Zeovit, Prodibio...might be interesting for some serious users out there.

6. I am going to try and get an oceanographer from my department who has done a lot of work on ocean remote sensing to talk about basic chemistry of the ocean and the ocean currents around the work. Its not finalized yet but once I know how many people are coming I will ask him.
I will try and get a conference room arranged in the University of Items 5 and 6.

7. Frags for trade and Sell (If you have frags to sell and trade please bring) You can post pictures of what you are bringing here. If you have dry goods you would like to trade and get rid off...bring them.

Talked to the wife and she's up for coming... and as much as my 3 month old daughter stares at the reef tank now I know she wants to go

I have zoo frags (possibly 2), xenia frags (2 again maybe), acro frag, a leather coral, ummmm maybe I'm forgetting something... but I also have free cheato if anyone wants some. If you do want cheato --- PLEASE let me know ahead of time and I'll just put some in a bag for anyone that wants some... probably have enough for 3-4 bags of it. Tons of copepods in the cheato as well.

Side note for Mike -- if you want to ride with us to Grand Forks let me know, not a problem on our end.

I'd be up for a bag a cheato for sure. not real sure on any frags yet.

Tiffany I would be interested in the Paly Grandis. I have some rust color Paly Grandis. May be we can trade. I am mostly into LPS...so I have a small collection of candy canes if you are interested.

Got any pics of yours? Same kind with the honking polyps? For candy canes I'm only looking for NEON green really, I have the pale green ones already. Unless you have some crazy color I've never seen before. I would be willing to trade a polyp though.

As far as dry goods --- anyone have any coral plugs or know where to get them locally? I should've picked some up in the cities when I went but didnt
For some reason I like the ceramic ones... also thinking of starting a large frag tank sometime (if I can talk the wife into it)

Tiffany, I have neon green candy canes...I will frag a polyp to trade with a polyp of your LPS....
